The only downside is that the disc-based PS5 consoles cost £649.99, which is a higher price than you'd pay from the likes of GAME, Argos and Amazon. Most of the PS5 consoles are brand new and boxed, although they have been unsealed to check the contents. At the time of writing, the retailer currently has hundreds of PS5 consoles in stock, both in disc form and digital. If you're desperate to secure a PlayStation 5 for Christmas and are willing to spend a little extra, then it's also worth checking out the Cash Converters website. The PS5 is even cheaper on eBay, where PlayStation 5 consoles average between £500 and £650. It's still a lot more expensive than buying a brand new PlayStation 5 console, but at least they're actually in stock at CEX. At CEX, for example, a boxed PS5 can now be purchased for £695, compared to more than £800 at its peak. Aside from possible in-store stock drops at GAME, fans will be better served either waiting for a different stock drop, or checking out the second-hand market. The invitation-only stock drop will take place from 8am GMT, followed by a public restock from 10am GMT. Sony has already started sending out email invites to customers who signed up to the mailing list. The next stock drop will take place on the morning of December 2, exclusively at PlayStation Direct. UPDATE 3: The first PS5 restock for December has been officially announced by Sony. Pre-orders are expected to be fulfilled in 1-2 weeks time." PlayStation Direct orders, meanwhile, are available on an invite-only basis, although the console should be available to the public from 10am GMT. £20 deposit, with the rest of the console fee paid upon collection.
